The recent blog article Make Fan Control a Breeze: 3 Smart Z-Wave Solutions for Any Setup by The Smartest House discusses use of Zooz switches along with the Bond Bridge to control ceiling fans–one of several classes of devices that use RF remote controls. The article states, “The Bond Bridge doesn’t speak Z-Wave natively, but it can integrate beautifully into a Z-Wave-powered smart home through your smart home hub (like SmartThings , Hubitat , or Home Assistant ).”
Alas, the blog article stops short of mentioning integration of the Bond Bridge with the Z-Box Hub!
There are two QuickApps available on the Fibaro Marketplace that talk to the Bond Bridge and the Z-Box is listed as a compatible platform. One QuickApp targets fans, the other targets window blinds.
As the Bond Bridge has been on my radar to control our existing motorized blinds (from SelectBlinds, who resell the Bond Bridge for use with their window coverings), as well as some existing ceiling fans with RF remotes, I’m very interested in any feedback regarding Z-Box hub implementation.
Has anyone tried it? Any comments or thoughts?
