So one of the things that I feel is still kind of issue is the app speed. Is there a way this could be optimized or sped up some?

So when I open the App, it’s on average about 20 seconds before I can do anything. For comparison SmartThings opens immediately, and Home monitor is up in 3 seconds.

I prefer a bunch of functionality of the Z-Box, however with the long delay I couldn’t replace SmartThings at my Mom’s house or my inlaws for example with the Z-Box, as I would just get constant questions about why it takes so long. (Right now I only get questions about why things don’t work when the Internet is out)

What’s going on in the background causing the delay? Is it waiting for devices to report or something?

It’s always been my hunch–no proof or confirmation–that the app loads most of its content from the hub and that accounts for the kind of delay you describe. Once it gets loaded, it seems to work fairly quickly, IMHO.

If this is the case, perhaps what we need is a very more powerful hub. Or perhaps a DIY capability, that we could install on our on hardware?
