Using Zooz ZEN51 to make my old Majestic fireplace work on Samsung SmartThings through my Aeotech smart hub

Hi everyone, I’m looking to integrate my Majestic Gas Fireplace into Samsung SmartThings using the Zooz ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay. I want to ensure I’m hitting the correct “SW” (Switch) terminals so I can keep my Proflame II remote working in parallel.

My Hardware:

  • Ignition Module: Dexen GM 8K1-50 (HHT Part #2166-307).

  • Remote System: Proflame II (Integrated into the Auxiliary Control Module).

  • Current Setup: No wall switch; the remote is currently the only way to control the fireplace.

The Situation: Based on my wiring diagram, there is a “Wall Switch (Unused)” loop. I’ve identified two wires with red translucent spade connectors coming out of the main 10-pin harness on the black Dexen box. They aren’t connected to the battery pack or gas valve.

My Questions:

  1. Can anyone confirm if these two wires are indeed the SW1/Switch terminals for this Dexen module?

  2. If I cut these and wire them to the ZEN51 (Yellow IN / Red OUT), will this allow SmartThings to trigger the fireplace without interfering with the Proflame II digital remote commands?

With the flame running if you pull the spades apart does it extinguish? Does it resume when you plug them back together?
