Where is the configuration option?

Wanted to add a new weather plugin, when I go to YR it says:

“If you want the weather data from this plugin to be displayed in the main interface and used in scene, select it as a main weather plugin in Configuration / General tab.”

Where is the Configuration / General tab? Not under Settings/General

Go to Settings (the gear icon on the left), Devices, the click Main Devices at the top of the screen. Weather Provider is the first setting on the left.

Good Luck & let us know how other weather providers work. (I haven’t tried this, Yet! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: )

Thank you, I was able to find it okay but it will not let me edit it. There must be somewhere where I enter a list of providers so that I can choose it on that screen

The “provider” is really a (virtual) device. That lets developers make custom “devices” that talk to the actual provider–or other web-based stuff–out there on your LAN or the web.

Here’s how you can see what is there now as a weather provider–probably YR Weather, the default provider pre-loaded in the Z-Box Hub. (If you have others, they will show up somewhere on this list.)

  1. Go to Settings, Devices (don’t click on Main Devices this time: leave it on Devices).
  2. Click on Filters on the right side of the screen, below the two colored buttons. This scrolls the list of devices down and shows some filters that can be applied.
  3. Click on All, located in the second group of filters with Hidden & Visible. Now you can see all devices, even the hidden ones.
  4. Click on the Filters pulldown again to hide the filter groups.

You will probably see YR Weather at the top of the Devices list. Mine is Device ID 3.

To have another provider, you must first load a virtual device that talks to the weather provider. It should then show up in the list of providers in the Main Devices screen.

FWIW, I have a QuickApp called “Open Weather Map” that I obtained from the Fibaro Forum. which gets its data from this service. I haven’t tried it yet. There are a lot of QuickApps in the Fibaro Marketplace, where you can filter by supported hub. Some will run on the Z-Box Hub. Read more about Quick Apps here.

This is a lot information to absorb! Work your way through the resources, above, and perhaps you will find a weather provider that you would like to use. YMMV.

As Barkis mentioned the fibaro marketplace got alot of quickapps

or from the marketplace:

This is my favorite Weather QuickApp

Thanks for the response. I was unaware of the Fibaro Forum. Now I have some playing to do.

I did get the weather changed as well.

Which weather provider did you choose to use? Just curious, as I haven’t tried anything but the default so far…

Went with OpenWeather because I already had an account. I do have my own weather station, I will figure out how to get the two to talk later.
