Hello, I have a Zen56 hooked up with smartthings and the custom edge driver. The smartthings app does show the button status, however pushing on the button on the controller does nothing. How is it supposed work?
Can you please clarify if you are referring to the physical button on the device itself, or a button in the SmartThings app?
The physical button……….
Thanks for clarifying! The physical button is just a Z-Wave button, to be used for inclusion, exclusion, and reset. To turn the device on and off, you would use the SmartThings app or connected switch.
This tile appears because the SmartThings Edge driver is exposing the Button capability for the device. In other words, SmartThings is treating part of the device as if it could send button events such as pushed or held (as when connected to a momentary switch). The “Standby” status simply means that no button event is currently being reported.
This is currently in the works to be added in a firmware update, but it is not currently available on this particular device. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
did I miss that footnote on the product page?
