Parameter 18: Set motion clear time for the delay before the sensor reports no motion to the hub and associated devices after detecting the last motion activity.
This parameter is, I believe, what some call the “cool-down period.” In other words, the time after a reported motion event where the sensor won’t report a new motion event. After that time period, it resumes reporting.
Example: it’s a holiday and your living room is full of people wandering around. Instead of hammering the hub with “motion/no motion” events, it waits until some period of no motion–set by this parameter–after which it will report a new motion event. So, eventually the family moves to the dining room for dinner and the living room goes quiet and a no motion event is sent to the hub–now the motion sensor is ready to send a motion event when a person enters the room after the meal.
Maybe I’m over thinking it. I thinking of it like the manual says, and it would give the all clear (perhaps an assumption), but would not report anymore motion until the cool down period had passed.
Perhaps this is why my motion sensors get “stuck on”, as they never send the all clear, they just go to sleep?
