The Zooz team invited me to be part of the beta test group for the ZSE43 Tilt / Shock Sensor, so of course that means a new video!
[Thank you Zooz!]
I have to say there was a lot of testing, and while I attempted to consolidate the findings and testing as much as possible the video topped out at almost a full hour! (Don’t worry - I do have chapter markers)
I covered basic integration and functional testing across the following z-wave environments:
- Zooz Z-Box
- Hubitat (with legacy Z-IP)
- Hubitat (with Z-Wave JS)
- Home Assistant (Z-Wave JS UI)
- Qolsys IQ 4 Panel / Alarm.com
And, of course, covered the calibration process and its importance. Using both the parameter method and the button press method.
I also attempted to make a whimsical ‘test mini mailbox’ which partially was a bad idea - but colorful and usable nonetheless. If you want to build your own mailbox I can post the parts list

Lastly - I had someone send me a list of detailed things they wanted to see tested on the device - and I answered them all as best I could. Of course if you see any errors or omissions, please let me know and I’ll update the video descriptions, etc. I always endeavor to be accurate and helpful to the community.
Enjoy!
