Any chance there is a version of the zse44 that has the same size as a decora light switch? was hoping I could install it to look like it is a blank next to the rest of the light switches in the bathroom.
Honestly there’s just no reason for it to take up valuable switch real estate. It would also have to stick out quick a bit for the sensor to read.
I’m using those in every room, and one outdoors even. In the bathroom, medicine cabinet / vanity doesn’t seal / close tightly so mine is actually inside the cabinet. It’s worked fine. Personally I would think out of sight would be better, mount it to the under side of a cabinet or the top, side etc, basically anywhere but that switch plate. Just my thought.
Hiding is the way to go imho. I actually hide mine on the wall/corner behind the doors in the rooms so only slightly noticed when the door is open. Or even on a bookshelf behind a picture frame or nick knack.
Also if mounted to a switch box there may be cool or warm air in the wall cavity effecting the reading. (Outside wall or if you have forced air HVAC etc. )
