ZSE50 Zooz Siren LED color codes

First things first. I love the new ZSE50 siren! I have three and they all work as expected. Now I am fine tuning them and I want to associate LED colors with the different alerts, but I cannot find a list of the available colors. I have one deaf person and another with a profound hearing loss who have asked if I could do this for them. What a game changer!!!

The ZSE50 Siren & Chime Advanced Settings states more colors are available through custom values corresponding to the color wheel. See advanced documentation for details. I have not been able to locate the advanced documentation.

Is this what you’re looking for, @Deb?

No. I found that. If you look at parameter 7 in that document, it alludes to an “advanced documentation” that I hope will contain the colors available through custom values.

Thank you for the quick response

I’m not sure where that advanced documentation can be found either. However, given the value that the documentation provides for matching colors, it looks to me like it lines up with a hue-based color map, like what is described here: <hue> - CSS | MDN

Use a HSL calculator and pick any color you want. Make sure you use 100% for saturation and 50% for lightness. Use the value for hue that makes that color as the parameter value, to get that same color from the LED. The link below is an example HSL calculator that should take you to an orange color I picked out, which happens to have a hue value of 35. Note the HSL box towards the bottom that should say “hsl(35 100% 50%)”.

I cannot confirm if this is true and accurate and cannot test it myself right now, but I hope it gives you an idea to try until you get an answer from Zooz.

Kevin, I think you on to something here. I plugged in a few random colors by the codes obtained in the color picker and they seem to correlate. An LED does not display the colors as well as the monitor, so some selections work better than others for the siren and chime. However, I am a happy camper! Thank you for finding this. I am sure hubby and child will be thanking you too as soon as I get the alarms color coded for them.

We have the documentation ready regarding the LED color options. We apologize for the delay; between multiple new product releases and Labor Day Sale, we’ve been a bit behind :upside_down_face:
