Passing Commands Between Hubs

Has anyone discovered a way to pass variables and commands between the ZBox and HE? I have successfully used Alexa as a go-between pass changes from HE to ZBox. I set up a virtual device on HE, then use a routine pass commands to ZBox. However, I cannot get Alexa to recognize anything on the Zbox as a smart device within routines.

I’d appreciate any advice anyone has about how to do this.

Genesis of this is my need to be able to control zigbee devices as well as z-wave.

HE is waht type of system? Or do you mean Home Assistant?

Hubitat Elevation. Then using Alexa as a transit point.

Aha, I guess Hubitat does have an api like zooz box? (swagger api to maybe?)

Might also be noted that sometimes changes/additions on the Z-Wave Hub don’t immediately propagate to Our Girl Alexa–she seems to have a mind of her own. I’ve had things show up days later.

If you wish to make it happen sooner, you can unlink/link the skill handling the Z-Box Hub. Sometimes that speeds things up. Sometimes asking Our Girl to scan for new devices from the Alexa app helps, too. YMMV

Getting it to appear is not the problem, getting it to appear in the smart things list within routine creation is where the problem is. It doesn’t list anything from the z-box as an option.

It does have an api, and if no one has come up with a workable solution, I will look at it that way. I thought I would poke my head up and look around to see what other people were doing first before I gave it a shot.
