SDK 7.24.1 on ZEN77 4.xx stream

When are you going to release a firmware update for ZEN77 4.70 to update it for the newer for Updated SDK from 7.19.3 to 7.24.1? I see you did it for the 5.10 release.

Since the changes from h/w 4.xx to 5.xx were mostly cosmetic and product manufacturability/cost (i.e. no real form fit or function changes) you really shouldn’t strand the folks that invested in the 4.xx platform to not get the benefits of the 7.24.1 library. I have nearly 50 ZEN77s at 4.70.

I can appreciate you can’t go backwards to all the vintage of models but this rolling model change is different as mentioned above.

@CuriousB Just wanted to share a quick update on our plans for firmware updates.

We do plan to bring the same SDK update that was recently released for our newest generation of switches and dimmers to several of our earlier 800 Series models as well. Since these devices are also based on the 800 Series Z-Wave chip, they can be updated with the newer SDK through a firmware upgrade.

The planned releases include:

  • ZEN73 and ZEN74 (firmware 2.xx)
  • ZEN71, ZEN72, and ZEN76 (firmware 3.xx)
  • ZEN77 (firmware 4.xx)

These updates will be released gradually over the next few months as they complete testing and validation.

We’ll keep this thread updated as new firmware becomes available. In particular, we’ll post here as soon as the ZEN77 firmware 4.80 is ready for download.
