ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay Firmware 1.90 US and EU Release Notes

VER. 1.90 (released 07/2025 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.90

  • This firmware version is compatible with hardware version 1.10 or 1.30 and higher. You can check your hardware version on the back of the ZEN51 module.
  • Updated parameter names and short descriptions in the Configuration Command Class for improved clarity and consistency.
  • Fixed an issue with LED behavior when the ZEN51 is included in a Z-Wave network — the LED now follows Parameter 1 settings as expected.
  • Resolved a mechanical switch issue that occurred when firmware version 1.80 was flashed to hardware version 1.10. The mechanical switch now functions properly on both hardware versions.
  • Optimized Z-Wave reporting behavior: when Basic Set or Binary Set commands are sent from the Z-Wave controller (Lifeline), the device will no longer send redundant report or notification commands back to the controller.

We don’t recommend updating your device unless you’re missing any of the functionality listed in the changelog and the update is absolutely necessary. Before you attempt an update on your device, please read this first:

  • Remember to unzip the file after downloading it before using it to update your device. 500 series device files will use the .otz or .hex format while 700/800 series device files will use the .gbl format.
  • Always double-check that you’re applying the correct firmware file to the right model and version of your Zooz device. Loading the wrong version to your device may deem it unusable.
  • You may need to exclude and re-include the device after the update is complete for best performance. Please consider you may need to rebuild all of your automations and settings for the device.
