Another cool use for the ZEN58 LV Relay.
I’ve created a two part video series covering bi-directional integration between Home Assistant and the IQ 4 Security Panel (with Alarm.com back end). (The video is long and in-depth but some great detail there!)
The ZEN58 lives on the IQ 4 side, receiving scene control triggers from a Shelly 1 Gen 4 that lives on the Home Assistant side. Even better, this was made bi-directional, meaning that a user can trigger the ZEN58 to close (aka ‘turn on’) triggering at least one scene in reverse. That way a given scene can be triggered from either side.
In this case, the scene has some devices rooted in the IQ4 panel, and other devices rooted on the Home Assistant side. But triggers from either side need to cause this ‘global’ scene to activate across both environments.
And, with this same setup there is room to trigger additional scenes in the IQ / ADC from HA, since I have other multi-tap scenarios available to be used (double tap, triple tap, etc). As an example, I used the triple tap to allow the Zooz ZEN55 DC Signal Sensor (connected to HA) to trigger a scene in the IQ (called “emergency lights”) should the smoke detectors ever sound. (This is covered in video 2 coming soon)
Here’s the diagrams/pictures:
Diagram of the connectivity:
Pic of testing after install in my alarm system ‘can’ (yes, with the metal lid closed Z-wave remains strong and stable, amazingly.)

Brew a fresh coffee before viewing… it’s a lot. LOL.
