ZSE18 randomly reports tripping

I randomly receive tampered alerts from my ZSE18. The unit is securely mounted. I read in another post that there is a software update.

Please advise.

Thanks,

John

I’m sure someone from Zooz will reply soon. However, do you actually need the vibration alerts? I know I disabled the vibration sensor on all my motion sensors.

Hey @JVI , thanks for reaching out! Can you please let us know what firmware your ZSE18 is currently running? Would you also be able to provide a screenshot of how the parameters/settings are currently programmed? We also recommend reaching out to our team directlyfor the quickest response time

Thanks for the response.

I disabled the vibration sensor. I could not find the s/w revision listed in my controller.

Below is the current configuration.

At this time I’m ok with having the vibration sensor disabled.

Thanks and Regards, John

Looks like a screenshot from Vera. I had issues with Zooz leak sensors showing random trips with Vera and that problem went away when I moved them to Z-Box. It’s been a while, but I remember noticing in my ZBox event history that the sensor would send something that wasn’t really a trip, maybe it was a random “safe” or something, and I guessed that maybe Vera was treating those as trips. I did update the firmwares after moving to the Z-Box though - not sure how you can do that with Vera.

We’ve seen several issues with Vera hubs properly recognizing and integrating 700 and 800 series Z-Wave devices. It seems that the mios and Vera systems are no longer updated or supported for new features and Z-Wave libraries as they’re replaced with the new Ezlo platform instead.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to remove Vera hubs from our compatibility lists for this reason. We’re not able to modify devices to accommodate older discontinued systems like these as we need to follow the current DSK for our devices to pass Z-Wave certifications and work well with active platforms that are up to date. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any other questions you may have.
