Does it matter if I mount it vertically or horizontally, as long as the gap is <0.25” and the lines are lined up?
I highly doubt it, but thought I’d ask before I adhere it to the door/frame.

@sparker did you mean ZSE41? Your title references the tilt sensor which does technically have an orientation. The open/close sensor, ZSE41 will work however you need to mount them.
Usually I connect them and try rough test fit before actually sticking them to make sure they will actually work. Sometimes you need to get creative. I know on my old windows I had to use actual magnets as they were slimmer.
Yes, I meant ZSE41 . Sorry for the confusion. Based on your reply, I will be mounting one pair horizontally (sliding glass door) and one vertically.

Yeap, doesn’t really matter, all of my window ones are mounted horizontally so either pane being moved will trigger the sensor.
