I have the Zen30 hooked up to a bathroom fan/light but the fan gradually comes up to speed rather than instant on. Any way to change this?
How do you have it wired? The dimmer side of the ZEN30 should hook only to the light, whereas the switch side (relay output) should control the fan. As shown here, in the documentation for the device…
Is that how you have it wired? Note that the dimmer is not rated to control a fan…

Thanks for the fast response. Install was done by an electrician using these templates. The fan is not coming in slowly, it just has a 6 second delay after hitting the button. It is like this on all four i have installed, all the fan/light units are identical as well.

@pegasus9 What you’re seeing is actually normal behavior, especially with newer bathroom exhaust fans that use DC motors.
Many modern, quiet bathroom fans are designed with a soft-start feature. Instead of turning on at full speed immediately, the motor gradually ramps up over a short period of time. This helps reduce startup noise, minimizes mechanical stress on the motor, and lowers the inrush current during startup.
As a result, it’s expected for the fan to take a moment to reach full speed, and this behavior is generally part of the fan’s normal design rather than an issue with the switch or relay controlling it.
