ZSE43 800LR Tilt/Shock Sensor Availability

Ugh… I’ve keep putting off an order for a few other things waiting for this to become available.

Guess I’d rather it be right though.

Absolutely! This is feedback we’ve received before and have already shared with our development team.

Changing the ZSE41 to a CR2450 would require physical hardware changes to accommodate the larger battery, so it isn’t something that can be addressed through firmware or a minor update. The idea is currently tabled, but it remains under consideration for a future hardware revision.

Please keep the feedback coming! Continued requests like this help us understand which changes would be most valuable to our users.

So, I think it was mentioned that the new one’s dimensions are different, and they are. What do we do with the outdoor waterproof case now when Waterproof Case for the Zooz XS Open | Close Sensor - The Smartest House doesn’t fit anymore?

You are correct. The waterproof case used with the previous ZSE43 hardware versions is not compatible with the new ZSE43 VER 3.0.

The VER 3.0 sensor was completely redesigned and now uses a larger enclosure with a CR2450 battery and a new triaxial accelerometer for more precise tilt and shock detection, along with calibration support and a new mounting bracket. Because of those hardware changes, the dimensions are different and the previous waterproof case will not fit. The new VER 3.0 model is rated for indoor installation only.

The existing waterproof case can still be used with the earlier ZSE43 VER 1.0 and 2.0 sensors, as well as compatible ZSE41 sensors.

We know this does remove the outdoor installation option for the new version, and we appreciate the feedback. We’ll make sure requests for an outdoor solution compatible with the redesigned ZSE43 are passed along to the product team.
